Myrtle tree in forest

Myrtlewood is recognized for its striking variety of color and character, offering a range from blonde to dark chocolate to radiant gold.  Minerals drawn up through the soil and into the tree lend accents of slate blues and greens.

Also known as California Bay Laurel, this hardwood species is found along coastal areas in Southern Oregon and Northern California.  It can live for many hundreds of years, regenerating itself from its roots when the trunk and branches are damaged.

Myrtlewood is considered a world-class tonewood and is sought after by luthiers and woodworkers around the globe.  We love it as uniquely beautiful and long-lasting flooring and also enjoy it when used for furniture, cabinetry, and other applications.

Our myrtlewood is sourced from the southern Oregon coast and comes from our network of small mills. We stock the hardwood in 4/4 and thicker boards of random lengths and widths and can custom mill it for your unique projects.

  • 3" though 6" solid, character-grade flooring
  • 4/4 through 6/4 hardwood lumber
